My newest pet peeve is companies who are marketing 'whole grain' products and attempting to fool the public into believing that they're buying a 100% Whole Grain product or mostly whole grain when they're not.
If the first ingredient is enriched, unbleached (or whatever) flour, it means they're using white flour for most of the product. They think people are stupid enough to think that unbleached means whole. It doesn't. They are banking on the fact that most people are just too busy trying to survive to read labels.
It's almost as misleading as 'multi-grain'. These folks don't even use the typical disclaimer of "Made with Whole Grain". Old London is selling the public a bill of goods and should be made to revamp their packaging to tell the truth.
I wrote to the company about this a couple of times and - what a shock - received no reply from them.
Are these better than regular melba rounds? Yes. Are they still essentially unhealthy? Yes.
